Art and Activities for Children

September 23-24, 11 am to 6 pm

Blank Canvases Art Activity:

Blank Canvases Kids Art Zone, sponsored by Curry’s Art Supplies, will activate and engage festival goers with a hands-on contemporary art project inspired by a local contemporary artist. Led by Artist Educators, participants will see work by the artist, and learn about their themes, and techniques through a studio based lesson. Each participant will be given art supplies to develop their own work and go home with a unique one of a kind art work of their own creation.

Roseneath Theatre:
Roseneath will run free interactive activities for children of all ages: dress up, drama games, parachute games and chalk drawing. Their booth will have information about fall 2017 drama camps and classes for kids ages 6-11, Youth Leadership Program, and the 2017-2018 school touring season of professional performances that resonate with today’s youth, encouraging them to reflect on themselves and their place within the community.

Live Interactive Performances from Little Fingers Music:

Little Fingers Music is a collective of musicians and educators. Their primary goal is to teach music and songs through 1 on 1 lessons and classes. They are also a touring group and have been putting on interactive music concerts throughout Ontario for 15 years. The “Little Fingers Music Keyboard Jam” is a fun introduction to keyboard playing for young musicians and learners. Keyboard Jams are a fun and interactive way to learn the fundamentals of keyboard playing and music theory through the use of SongGames and hand percussion.
