I was born in Warsaw, Poland. While growing up, I spent most of my spare time drawing and painting and, in my early twenties, my passion for art took me to Paris, France, where I studied art at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts. I immensely enjoyed exploring the countless museums and art galleries of Warsaw, Paris, London and Berlin, which eventually greatly influenced my own art. For a long time I have enjoyed painting more traditional, realistic still life, using dark colours and contrasting light to create mysterious depths.
In more recent years I have been exploring new techniques and different use of colour and light, which led me to a more impressionistic and spontaneous style. Today my paintings are filled with lots of sunlight and vibrant colours, celebrating the joy of life and filling the viewer with optimism and happiness. These textured, whimsical acrylics and loosely layered watercolours are often inspired by flowers and variety of different objects I find in my travels and every day life.
I paint in watercolours and acrylics and often mix a variety of mediums to add depth, textures and more detail. Depending on the way I feel in the moment, each medium allows me to create a different atmosphere to better express the character and unique features of the subject I am painting.
