Artist Statement:

Jellodream creates surrealist portraits of odd looking characters that evoke curiosity. She works primarily in oil, and explores new ideas through her illustrations.

Her work explores ways that we as humans exist and express ourselves outwardly, and the different tools we use to understand our place in the world. The answer as to how each character exists in her paintings is left subjective to the viewer through means of pattern, self-adornment, and choice of color.

Jellodream graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Jewellery and Metals. She has taken part in the organization and execution of a few gallery openings within her school. Outside of school Jellodream has also shown and sold work at numerous markets in Calgary and Red Deer.

Jellodream paints and illustrates from Toronto in her cozy apartment overlooking the city’s streets and sounds.
