My name is Tanja-Tiziana and I am a visual artist based in Toronto.
My photographic work examines our notion of time in the bustling modern metropolis. I travel in search of that decisive moment in which modern life and history are blurred. Using both traditional and integral film, as well as digital processes, I create and shapes the field of view in order to produce images that question our perception of what is past and present; what is memory and what is reality.
Recent projects include, “Mixed Memory,” a collage series featuring found Kodachrome slides from the 1940s-70s and a new book, Buzzing Lights: The Fading Neon Landscape of North America, which was published this past September. The samples I have supplied here are from my most current series, yet untitled, which features medium format multiple exposure work.
