Become a Queen West Art Crawl Volunteer! September 23-24, 2017!

One of the biggest, most exciting arts events in Toronto is actively recruiting volunteers! We are looking for Queen West Art Crawl Ambassadors, Load-in staff, Kids Zone & Performance Zone Coordinators, and Info Booth attendants. You will get a free lunch, a lanyard, and the opportunity to work with a beloved Canadian arts charity. Learn new skills, meet new people, help your arts community, receive volunteer hours and a letter of reference for school/work requirements, and most importantly, have some fun! We hope you will join us.

 

Our main volunteer areas are:

Load in/Load out Crew – Trinity Bellwoods Park 

Date: September 23-24

Time: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. and/or 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • In one of QWAC’s three load-in zones, help artists carry their pictures and artwork to their booths and back
  • Help with tearing down and packing up Zones, Information Booth, and artist tents
  • Ensure vehicles do not drive into the park

Information Booth Attendant – Trinity Bellwoods Park

Date: September 23-24

Time: 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist exhibitors and the public by distributing event program guides
  • Highlight the various programs in the festival
  • Answer general questions and provide directions

General QWAC Ambassador – Art Around the World – Various venues along Queen St. W

Date: September 23

Time: 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Distribute event guides and help with logistics at various locations along Queen St. W, as part of our new ‘Art Around the World’ program
  • Provide directions, answer general questions, ensure artists and venues have all their supplies
  • Conduct surveys on behalf of QWAC

Curblane Supervisor/Community Centre Parking Lot Supervisor – Trinity Bellwoods Park

Date: September 23-24

Time: 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the curblane (along Queen Street West, from Gore Vale to 800 Queen Street West) or the Community Centre Parking Lot
  • Ensure no one parks in the designated areas (traffic cones)
  • Provide directions for visitors to the Queen West Art Crawl

Interactive Arts Assistant and General QWAC Ambassador – Trinity Bellwoods Park

Date: September 23-24

Time: 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patrons in the interactive art area with t-shirt printing, general customer service, and as a QWAC ambassador
  • Conduct surveys on behalf of QWAC
  • Answer general questions about QWAC, hand out event guides; additional duties as assigned

All volunteers are expected to participate in orientation and training, which will take place on-site the day of the event.
