FESTIVAL HISTORY

2003: Queen West Art Crawl (QWAC) was founded by Artscape and began as a one-day outdoor art show.
2004: QWAC was run by the Parkdale Economic Development Corporation
2007: QWAC was run by the Parkdale Community Development Group.
2009: QWAC further expanded. It became its own entity and achieved charitable status.

QWAC has since grown into a three-day multidisciplinary arts festival, including an outdoor exhibition of over 250 juried artists and artisans, a performance and kids area, attracting over 65,000 visitors in one weekend.

QWAC creates an open, inclusive, and public space for arts and culture in a busy downtown neighbourhood. We partner with groups like Workman Arts and the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto to ensure that underserved populations are strongly represented in our exhibit, creating spaces for artists with lived mental health experiences and local Indigenous populations through donation and self-curation. Our Kid's Zone is 2SLGBT+ friendly and our music curation is 50+% BIPOC.
